Trevor Shelton has worked in both the Media and Production business for over thirty years, during that time he has had the opportunity to work with some of the best talent and multi-nationals around the world.
Trevor formed a record label in the late eighties called “Rammit Records” an Urban/Alternative label, that gave up-and – coming artists an opportunity to have their music heard on radio with both national and international distribution through Multi - Nationals such as A&M Records, Universal Music, BMG Music to name a few. He was also the A&R Special Projects Director for Current Records who had created the bands Martha & The Muffins, The Parachute Club some of the top names on the label that went on to become household names around the world. Trevor has been producing bands for over twenty years as a producer, some names include, the legendary “Marvin Gaye” CD/LP entitled “The Last Concert Tour” distributed worldwide through Giant / Warner Bros around the globe. Trevor was also brought in to do additional production on the “Eileen Shania Twain project,” “First Time for the Last Time”, licensed in Europe and around the globe.Trevor was the producer for Canadian artist, “Liberty Silver”, Juno Award winner as well as “Something Extra”, Juno nominees and more….
Trevor is the founder and first President of the Urban Music Association of Canada (UMAC), the organization was formed to assist and develop urban artist the opportunity to record and perform on the world stage. Trevor was also the driving force behind the “CANADIAN URBAN MUSIC AWARDS”, Canada’s most successful awards show that was broadcast nationally on CBC, appearances by Jack soul, Julie Black, Lloyd Banks hosted by Canada’s own Russell Peters, to name a few, this was a two hour show production done by Insight Productions, (same production company that provided production and set design for “Canadian Idol”.
Trevor has served as Chairman for the Juno Awards R&B (Rhythm & Blues) Advisory Committee for which he was honoured for his outstanding achievements and contribution.
His credits also include Production manager for both the thirteen half hour Documentary shows “Bluesman” and “Jazzman”, which were aired on Bravo (Canada) and BET in the United States.
Trevor worked as a respected agent, for the WCB Welterweight Canadian Boxing Champion, “Fitz the Whip” Vanderpool who was one of the country’s top professional athletes. In 1997, Trevor together with Winston Gregg formed a comedy basketball team called “The Fabulous Harlem Road Kings” Comedy Basketball Team. The “Kings” have entertained in over a hundred countries across the globe, The team boast two former “Harlem Globe Trotters” members as well as the “Spinman” who presently the Guiness Book of World Records for “spinning” a basketball on one finger. Both Trevor and Winston to develop this talented and entertaining team.
